New Urban Research Teleclasses
New Urban Research Teleclasses
You can now expand your GIS skills from the comfort of your home or office. New Urban Research is now offering a unique and affordable approach to learning core, essential ArcGIS skills through tele-classes. The GIS Essentials Series provides exercises for twenty common and essential GIS skills.
What is a TeleClass?
tele-
A prefix that means "at a distance,"
class-
A meeting of a group of students for instruction.
How does it work?
Written exercises and files are emailed to participants one-week before workshop date. You can work through the exercise before class, or just follow along during the tele-class. Each class is one-hour long with ample opportunity to ask questions along the way. The last 15 minutes are reserved for question and answer specifically.
Students are provided a tele-conference number with which to dial in. It is highly recommended that you have a speaker (or hands free phone) available so you can work on your keyboard while listening to the instructor go through the exercise steps. The phone call is recorded and you have access to the recording for a week after class.
Technical Requirements: A PC with Windows Operating System and ArcGIS 9.x or higher. High speed internet connection. An unzipping program such as WinZip.
Audience: Unless otherwise indicated by a pre-requisite requirement, classes fit any skill level from beginner to expert.
